Below is the Provenance Map to enable us to keep trees within thier naturally designated areas.

The U.K. is divided into 4 main seed zones:
Northwest (known as area 10)
Northeast (     “        “      “    20)
Southwest (    “        “       “   30)
Southeast (      “        “       “   40)
Which have themselves been subdivided according to climatic and geological variation, (see map)
In order to preserve biodiversity and to plant trees in the most suitable climatic areas tree seedlings should be planted from within these zones. For example native trees should only be planted in area 303 if the seedlings were also collected from area 303

Elevation is also important, so again trees should only be planted above 300 meters if they were collected from within that zone at above 300 meters.
